Designed for American Mahjong enthusiasts and casual fans alike, the 2026 Mahjong Visuals bring the timeless art of mahjong to life in a whole new way. Our official beloved NMJL card is difficult to read quickly due to the overwhelming amount of information it contains. The Mahjong Visuals are designed to create free space, improve clarity and enable easier line comparison for rapid pattern recognition, streamlined decision-making, agile pivots, faster turns, and increased enjoyment.
"The thought process driving the enhancement"
Here's is the reasoning behind the improvement: The key to winning "Mah Jongg!" is better pattern recognition. Since we have only two patterns to scan for, let's make these two patterns stand out: the set of 3 identical tiles called Pung and the set of 4 identical tiles called Kong. In order to eliminate the repetitive numbers representing them, we introduced a circle around the single defining number for pung and a square around the single defining number for Kong. Voilà! At Mahjong Visuals, we bring these two key building blocks to life, making them truly stand out - sometimes "jump at you"!
