Designed for American Mahjong enthusiasts and casual fans alike, the 2026 Mahjong Visuals bring the timeless art of mahjong to life in a whole new way. Our official beloved NMJL card is difficult to read quickly due to the overwhelming amount of information it contains. The Mahjong Visuals are designed to create free space, improve clarity and enable easier line comparison for rapid pattern recognition, streamlined decision-making, agile pivots, faster turns, and increased enjoyment.
"The thought process driving the enhancement"
Here's is the reasoning behind the improvement: The key to winning "Mah Jongg!" is better pattern recognition. Since we have only two patterns to scan for, let's make these two patterns stand out: the set of 3 identical tiles called Pung and the set of 4 identical tiles called Kong. In order to eliminate the repetitive numbers representing them, we introduced a circle around the single defining number for pung and a square around the single defining number for Kong. Voilà! At Mahjong Visuals, we bring these two key building blocks to life, making them truly stand out - sometimes "jump at you"!

First Opponent Exposure
As soon as one opponent displays their first exposure, locate on your "Exposure Whisperer Flipcard" the corresponding [BLOCK] clearly shows all the possible winning hands for the current Pung or Kong.

The Exposure [BLOCK] displaid here - Pung One (any suit)
A pung is a set of 3 identical tiles, represented here with a circle around the defining number ONE for instant pattern recognition. The opponent displaying this exposure is now committed to the six winning lines listed within the BLOCK.
The First Exposure Scope at a Glance
With the PUNG ONE shown, the risky discards are limited to the following:
2, 3, 4, D in the same suits (blue color) and ,
1, 3, 4, 5, D in a different suit (green or red color) and,
(the Singles 1, 3 in a different suit)
All the other tiles are safe to discard for this partially exposed hand.
The Second Exposure Clues
KONG ONE: > ALN / line 2, avoid discarding 1s and DRAGONS, if possible.
PONG TWO: > CONSECUTIVE RUN, try no discard 1s and 2s from another suit, any 3s and 4s
etc...
